The Vienna Talks on Mutual Recognition of ADR Certificates ended without results

Vienna, 4 April 2016

On 4 April 2015, the delegation of the Republic of Kosovo, led by Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri and Minister for Trade and Industry, Hykmete Bajrami together with the professional team took part in the meeting convened by the EU regarding the mutual recognition of certificates for transportation of hazardous goods known as ADR.

This meeting was held in Vienna and lasted throughout the day. After difficult negotiations and efforts to reach an agreement on the mutual recognition of certificates of ADR – in which is worth noting that the commitment of the European Union as a mediator was maximal – these talks produced no results.

The delegation of the Republic of Kosovo has been fully committed to finding a durable solution on the mutual recognition of Certificates of ADR but they suggested that the reciprocity measures remain in force until such agreement is reached.

The delegation was composed of Hykmete Bajrami, Minister in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Gazmir Raci, political advisor to the Minister Edita Tahiri and coordinator of the issue, Fejzulla Mustafa, head of the Department of Transport of Hazardous Goods in the Ministry of Infrastructure and Bekim Mehmeti, sector leader of IBM in Kosovo Customs.
