Parties agreed on Vehicles License Plates and on the Removal of Illegal License Plates

On 14 September 2016, Kosovo and Serbia concluded the agreement on license plates.

Minister Edita Tahiri stated that “by this agreement they have established reciprocity in the vehicles license plates between the two countries, which means that whatever applies to the license plates of one country shall also be applied to the license plates of the other country”. The agreement further ends the use of “probation” license plates, which were placed by Serbia for Kosovo’s vehicles plates (RKS).

In addition, this agreement puts an end to illegal vehicle plates that occasionally circulate in the northern part of Kosovo.

This agreement finalizes the implementation of the agreement on free movement,  reached in 2011, in Brussels.
