Second meeting between Kurti and Vučić
19 July 2021
The second high-level of Pristina- Belgrade Dialogue with Albin Kurti, Prime Minister of Kosovo and Aleksandar Vučić, President of Serbia, was held on 19th of July 2021.
During this meeting, by the Kosovo delegation a six-article Declaration of Peace was offered which speaks to the commitment not to attack each other and the reciprocity of rights. They also provided evidence of 11 violations committed by Serbia against Kosovo through barriers against free trade that should be eliminated. Both of these were rejected by the Serbian delegation.
Vučić described the meeting with PM Kurti as “even worse” than the one held in June. He also added that the Serbian side accepted the proposals prepared by the EU, while the Kosovo side rejected them.
EU Special Representative for Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue Miroslav Lajčak, was quoted saying that the meeting was a hard one and that it showed very different approaches of the two sides.
The only thing that was agreed is that the Dialogue would continue, with the next meeting to be held in August of this year.
