A consecutive meeting on Elections was held in Brussels

On 16 September, 2013, the delegation of Kosovo, led by Deputy Prime Minister Edita Tahiri, attended the regular meeting on local elections, in Brussels.

The meeting focused on the preparations for organizing of the local elections.

On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Edita Tahiri confirmed the commitment of the Government of Kosovo and all state institutions to hold the local elections in democratic and European spirit and in respect of Kosovo laws, as determined by the agreement on normalization of interstate relations between Kosovo and Serbia.

She particularly stressed the importance of the local elections, which are being held for the first time over the whole territory of Kosovo.

They will significantly contribute to the establishment of democracy, law and normalcy in the northern municipalities of the country, where after many years, citizens will elect, legally and legitimately, their municipal structures”, continued Tahiri.

Further, OSCE representatives expressed their satisfaction with the constructive cooperation of all parties involved in this process and commended, in particular, the work accomplished by the Central Election Commission regarding 3d of November local elections.
